History:
Vernon Rudolph opened the first Krispy Kreme on July 13, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina using a secret doughnut recipe that was bought from a French chef in New Orleans. He began selling his doughnuts to local grocery markets, but soon people began asking if they could buy hot doughnuts. Quickly thinking, Rudolph cut a hole in the wall and starting selling Hot Original Glazed directly to customers. Today Krispy Kreme has approximately 300 stores and 90 satellites operating systemwide in the United States of America, Australia, Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
